Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang, is a historically rich city where multiple ethnicities converge. After seeking inspiration abroad, young photographer Ma Hailun realized that her true inspiration lies right here, in her hometown Urumqi. So she came back to capture its unique youth culture, and ultimately showcase Xinjiang’s diversity. The vibrant scenes include young people clad in trendy attire, engaging in popular activities like skateboarding and street dance, which embody the city’s lively spirit.
